Akira Usagi Art
Akira Usagi is a Japanese American artist/muralist born and based in Los Angeles, CA. His work has spread to Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Texas, D.C., and The Dominican Republic. As a trained chemist, he believes art, like chemistry, to be an honest pursuit of truth through observation, experimentation, and imagination.
Despite the personal intimacy that comes from making and observing art, he believes its power is universal and can transcend language, culture, race, gender, orientation, age, religion, ability etc.
His ultimate goal is to crystallize visual images of his hopes, fears, demons, and dreams as an escape and salvation from/ towards reality. He hopes his work can be used by others who encounter similar/different struggles and victories in their lives.
